Apple TV+ announced today that Dickinson has been picked up for Season 3. The good news arrives alongside the scheduling of a premiere date for the period dramedy's sophomore run, which will begin airing on January 8.
The half-hour series premiered last year as a launch title on Apple's new streaming service. It has garnered high critical acclaim and appears to be popular among subscribers as well. Today's renewal makes Dickinson the first original series on Apple TV+ to earn a third season.
The show stars Hailee Steinfeld as rebellious young writer Emily Dickinson. As she comes of age in the 19th century, Emily is determined to become the world's greatest poet while surrounded by the era's constraints of society, gender, and family.
Look for Season 2 of Dickinson to premiere on Friday, January 8, 2021 with the release of its first three episodes. Subsequent episodes will follow weekly.
