FXX announced today that Archer has been picked up for a 12th season. The good news comes a week before the current season's finale, which will wrap another solid run for the animated comedy.
On the air since 2009, the half-hour series still performs well for the cable network. At over 100 episodes it still draws a healthy audience, with Season 11 tallying 2.43 million viewers each episode across its distribution platforms. That's an increase of 32% compared to last year.
This season saw Archer awaken from his years-long coma to resume his spy work, though the world is quite different now than he remembers it. The show spent the last three seasons in different locales, which included 1940s Los Angeles, a deserted island in 1938, and even outer space.
Look for Season 12 of Archer in 2021.

So glad it got renewed-- but how many episodes is this current season? It seems like it just started and now its ending already?

I enjoyed the Coma stories, as it mixed the holy hell out of the series. The new season now feels like a season one with the advantage of completely fleshed out and beloved characters.

.. niiiice... the coma was a good way to explain the horrible seasons 9 and 10.... because everyone involved had to be on massive drugs to thing those were decent seasons. 11 is off to a great start. Looking forward to 12.

After the last few seasons, I wasn't expecting a whole lot of good for Season 11. Boy, was I wrong. It's probably one of the best of the series.
