No Season 2 for the soapy drama.
October 30, 2020
It is being reported that Fox has cancelled Filthy Rich after just one season. The sad news comes five episodes into the drama's 10-episode run. The show's remaining five episodes are still slated to air as planned.
The hour-long series premiered in late September after a bit of a bumpy road making it to air. It was originally supposed to debut last Fall but was pushed to the Spring due to scheduling conflicts. Then when the coronavirus pandemic hit, the network pushed it again to this Fall in order to fill gaps in their lineup.
Filthy Rich follows the Monreaux family, who are the founders of the popular Christian TV station known as the Sunshine Network. When the patriarch of the family dies in a plane crash, his dirty secrets come to light and forces his wife to deal with the fact that the man she loved fathered three illegitimate children, who were all written into his will. This threatens their family name and fortune - and they will do whatever it takes to hold on to what is rightfully theirs.

OMG I really really really love this show and I can't even put my finger and pinpoint exactly why because this is usually not my cup of tea but being that they put out the first three episodes all at once before the even aired, produced what I would think is the exact response they want it which is that I quickly fell in love with the show all of it different characters which again is very unusual for me so early in a series because I for one the guy who checks this website several times a week just for principle and technically I don't usually watch any new show until after I know it's been renewed because so much gets canceled it's not worth the time I can invest my time in more long-term satisfaction and in this case the episode I found myself picturing how the series could go on for a while with all the different anecdotes and quick-witted soapy style drama with a hint of humor and some interesting twists but I liked it I really really liked it and I have never continue to watch a show from the minute I know that it's been canceled I give up no matter how much time I've invested or how many seasons has been unless it's a final season of a long-running series and have known for a while that it was coming to an end so I can prepare for the penultimate finale but I don't understand how they could cancel the show when they have so few shows to air and find it hard to believe that if I like it as much as I do

If they, at any point, cite passages from the big book of old fables... then there's too much religion. Where have all the RATIONAL people gone? If they choose to not be present.. there where are the series dedicated to the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and other fable characters.. why is it always the "carpenter".

Can't say I'm surprised. It started out nicely as a kind of satire of all these trashy nighttime soap operas and then turned into one of them. I recently stopped watching it.

Death to hollywood! Producing so much crap, they need to go under. Great opportunity for putting up studios in other states and filming without all the political agendas, degrading women, drugs, and opportunity to get rid of racist hollywood and get tv shows that show the United States as it is, different races and cultures!

Kinda sad but this style of show is better on a streaming service where it can find a solid audience. Network TV is becoming a wasteland. I think this show had a great balance of fun soap drama while also highlighting the real world ridiculousness of conservative evangelical culture.. trust me I know because my Mom loved these people (a very popular woman and man in this world in real life) and they are so outrageously evil .. I cant even.

I disagree that there's too much religion for the nonreligious. I am nonreligious and I find the show hilarious.
