FX announced today that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has been renewed for four more years, which will see it on the air through at least Season 18. Already cable television's current longest-running comedy, the show is now the longest-running live-action sitcom in television history.
The series had actually been renewed for Season 15 earlier this year when the cable network revealed its 2021 programming lineup, and it looks like that pickup has been bundled into today's announcement.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows group of self-centered, underachieving friends who run a struggling bar in South Philly, Pennsylvania called Paddy's Pub. Together they must see past their self-involvement in order to preserve their friendship and keep their business going.
Look for Season 15 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia in 2021 on FXX.
Four more years of #SunnyFXX! That's something we can all get behind. https://t.co/T7a2BCH7Ol

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go play a game of Chardee MacDennis; Electric Boogaloo
