The naval spin-off will say good-bye in May.
February 17, 2021
CBS announced today that NCIS: New Orleans will be coming to an end after its current seventh season. The sad news comes as the spin-off is experiencing a dip in its ratings - down around 25% compared to its average from last year.
On the air since 2014, episodes follow a specialized team of Navy investigators in the Big Easy. The second entry in the franchise, the show has been a consistently steady performer for the network, and by the time it concludes will have aired 155 total episodes.
The series finale of NCIS: New Orleans will air on Sunday, May 16.

Most cops shows and procedurals are doing "ripped from the headlines" stuff. It's not new, and it's always performative, so that's not what killed the show...tons of cop shows (like Blue Bloods) still get high ratings while dealing with social issues.
Hell, Adam-12 (where I got my name from) dealt directly with social issues in every episode, and was probably right-leaning (based on Jack Webb's political views).
I personally think the death knell of the show was killing off LaSalle, but that might just be me.

I totally agree with your statement. Woke is broke and killing off LaSalle didn’t help!

What Truff said ... ONLY THE EXACT OPPOSITE. This show began its tumultuous slip into oblivion from the very first episode this season. Every single episode slammed WOKE down our throats. Nothing to do with the 4 years, only the last 4 months.

They show became a let down after it stop being escapism. Viewers don't want to be reminded of the truth of racism, right wing extremism, and rise in crime. After four years of that in the news people were done with it. People watch these things to get away from thinking about how far from great our society slipped in the past four years and want to think of other things.

I am sorry to see it go. Because of Scott Bakula, it's the only NCIS I watch. I hope the ending at least will be spectacular.

Stopped watching years ago because no one could keep their fake New Orleans accent going for more than a line or two (and they were already sucking up all the NCIS scripts with woke garbage in my opinion)

Stopped watching when it became WOKE. Sick of all the woke b.s. on the "news" everyday, why would I want my entertainment this way?

Hate to hear this. Like it so much more than the LA version. After being stuck at home I am sick of everything though.

Have always watched this show - maybe the ratings are down because episodes have not been consistently aired this season !!
Will miss it !! One of the few shows my husband and I watch together !!

It was a failed "Enterprise" from the start.
