The Ted Danson comedy will return for Season 2.
March 22, 2021
NBC announced today that Mr. Mayor has been picked up for a second season. The news comes just under a month after the comedy wrapped its freshman run, which ultimately garnered a mixed reception from critics. The show's original 13-episode order was cut short due to the ongoing pandemic, which is why Season 1 only released nine episodes in total.
Co-created by Tina Fey, the series stars Ted Danson as Neil Bremer, a retired businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles so he can shake up City Hall with some of his great ideas. But after pulling out a surprise victory, he has to figure out exactly what he stands for, gain the respect of his biggest critic, and connect with his teenage daughter - all while navigating the tricky political landscape of America's second weirdest city.
Look for Season 2 of Mr. Mayor as part of the 2021-2022 season.

Sorry -- we tried. We gave up on the show by the 6th episode. Too staged, not funny and mostly just plain silly. We love Ted Danson and Bobby Moynihan. The rest of the office staff are annoying and petty. We decided to watch the Christmas special and it only reminded us why we stopped watching. Frankly, we were surprised it got renewed.

I can't wait for more episodes!
This is the latest NBC ensemble comedy in the style of "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation" and stands equally tall among them. I thought Ted Danson was rolling the dice once too often after the blowout success of "The Good Place", but he's got another winner.

Wasn't sure I'd enjoy a documentary about California politics, but this is amazing work.
Should definitely win an IDA award.

I really hate when hollywood writers try to make jokes about how crazy "woke culture" is. You morons helped foist this stuff on us! It's like if Hitler did stand-up at auschwitz about the shitty food or something.

Been watching and it is decent. Makes me want more of the The Good Place instead! Not a huge fan of Tommy and Mikaela characters (even though I've liked the actors in other shows).

Hard to watch at first but has gotten better with every episode. Not my favorite comedy on tv right now but I do enjoy and hopefully they continue to make it better.
