No Season 3 for the Ted Danson comedy.
May 12, 2022
It is being reported that Mr. Mayor has been cancelled by NBC after two seasons. The news comes just days before the comedy wraps its sophomore run, with its upcoming episode on May 17 now serving as its series ender.
Co-created by Tina Fey, the half-hour series stars Ted Danson as Neil Bremer, a retired businessman who runs for mayor of Los Angeles so he can shake up City Hall with some of his great ideas. But after pulling out a surprise victory, he has to figure out exactly what he stands for, gain the respect of his biggest critic, and connect with his teenage daughter - all while navigating the tricky political landscape of America's second weirdest city.

Too bad, this was actually a funny show. If Rich Caruso wins LA mayor, it would have been a case of reality topping fiction had the show been renewed.
There's a whole crop of these NBC "workplace" shows going back to at least "The Office" but it appears their time is over.

Show wasn't necessarily bad, but wasn't great either. Since Ted is in two of my top 10 "comedy" shows of all time (The Good Place and Cheers) I was hoping for a bit more.

I'll give anything with Ted Danson a try. I tried, but this show just got too into itself and the inside hollywood jokes that were never going to resonate with the rest of America. This show was actually dead before the end of the first season. Sorry Ted.

watched the first season and loved it. then the second season just lost me. like for some reason all the funny was just drained from it all and it was just people talking trying to make jokes but only to a very small miniscule audience.

I laughed a lot in every episode. Ted Danson was perfect, and I hate to admit that I love Bobby Moynihan's craziness. Good cast, maybe it cost too much to produce? Time for another reality show that costs so much less? :( I'm quite sad to see this one go!

I enjoyed this show and will miss it! This was a rough day for some very good shows!

Not even Ted Danson and Holly Hunter could save this terrible show.

I'm very disappointed with this news. This show had a solid cast led by veteran performers Ted Danson and Holly Hunter with Tina Fey whose credits include "30 Rock" handling the creative aspect. I guess not everyone appreciates screwball humor like what was featured on "Mr. Mayor".
