The competition series could return later this year.
April 21, 2021
Word is out that Netflix has picked up Floor Is Lava for a second season. The news comes 10 months after the competition series debuted its 10-episode freshman run, which was viewed by 37 million households within a month of its release.
While the streaming giant has not officially commented on the renewal, host Rutledge Wood has been replying to tweets about the news on social media. Rutledge will be resuming his duties in Season 2.
In Floor Is Lava, teams of three compete in an obstacle course where they must figure out how to best navigate themed rooms flooded with 'lava'. Cooperation and communication are key as they leap from platforms, hang from curtains, and swing from chandeliers.
A time frame for the show's return has not been set, though a return later in 2021 appears likely.

This show insulted my intelligence. I knew to go in with low expectations and that all "reality" shows are edited like crazy for entertainment, but the ridiculous level of fabrication in the editing of season 1 made me feel like they must think the viewers are idiots. Some of the 'falls' were straight up redos. "Sorry, person 3, your fall wasn't entertaining enough. We need you to get up and do it again in a funnier way for the replays."

Really? Rehash of a kids game growing up. How dumb must these genius' be to come up with this lame concept. Leave it to the kiddos in your living room

Happy to see it is coming back. Wonder what took so long for the renewal? Maybe we'll see it for the summer....
