The thriller will return for Season 2.
May 4, 2021
ABC announced today that Big Sky has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes with three episodes remaining in the thriller's freshman run.
The series premiered in November with an initial 10-episode order that was quickly bumped up to 16 after a strong start in the ratings. Its first week on the air garnered nearly 11 million viewers across the network's linear and digital platforms, making it ABC's best-performing series launch since 2018's 'The Rookie'.
From David E. Kelley, Big Sky follows a private detective and an ex-cop who initially join forces to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped on a remote highway in Montana. Two duo have since moved on to focus on another case in the back-half of Season 1.
Look for Season 2 of Big Sky during the 2021-2022 season.

I wanted to like this show because of Katheryn Winnick but it was so predictable that I gave up.

This show has very little to do with the books. They took the names and a SMALL part of the original story and made this mess of a show. Just my opinion.

This show has really grown on me. I was ready to quit after the 3rd episode because it looked like it was going to be violent and depressing, but I was totally wrong. It has picked up momentum with each and ever episode and has gotten more suspenseful, with wrap around stories and interesting characters. I love the 2 main women characters. The show leaves you on edge because you never know who is going to be killed off -- no one is safe! I am so glad it got renewed. I just hope they catch Roland THIS season -- I can't stand to watch him anymore. Ugle little man.

The show started out good, but fizzled shortly. Have to say that is the best performance by actor, Brian Geraghty.
There really is no where for the story to go. There is absolutely no chemistry between the two leading ladies.
This show is sub-par for David E. Kelley.

Biggest mistake was Killing off Ryan Phillippe. The show started out strong - first 1/2 of the season was great....but this 2nd half with the newer mystery storyline isn't so good (I expect more from Davie E Kelley).

I’ll start by saying I am a big David E Kelly fan and this show actually had some promise in what looked to have been a good first season. It got greedy and decided to do what I believe is another season with a first season and a very convoluted story line in what I think is now a second season because everything was unfolded quickly in the first. Feel this show is rushed just to deliver “content” and not typical of David E Kelly’s smarts. I’d recommend passing on Big Sky and looking at his other show Big Shots with John Stamos that has more promise. All my own opinion of course
