ABC announced today that Big Sky has been picked up for a third season. The good news comes ahead of next week's sophomore finale, which airs on May 19.
The hour-long series premiered in 2020 with an initial 10-episode order that was quickly bumped up to 16 after a solid start in the ratings. It has since continued to be a reliable performer across the network's linear and digital platforms.
From David E. Kelley, Big Sky follows a private detective and an ex-cop who initially join forces to search for two sisters who were kidnapped on a remote highway in Montana. Two duo have since moved on to focus on other cases that come up in their small town. Season 3 will see Jensen Ackles join the cast, playing a new temporary Sheriff.
Look for Season 3 of Big Sky this fall as part of the 2022-2023 season.

Show has lost some of its appeal, but Reba McEntire certainly was a mistake. Her acting skills in a drama leave a lot for desire. If it comes back without her I will continue to watch it. She is just very bad at acting in a drama.! The only people that seems to like her are her music fans. Although, a couple friends in a member of my family who love her do agree that she was terrible.

Season 3 was definitely the best one yet. Reba McEntire was awesome and the story line kept the viewer on their toes with the twists and turns. I really hopes it gets renewed for season 4. If it does, please bring bag Cormac!

I am glad the series has been renewed, but what I do not understand is why the show pivoted from a psychological thriller based detective series to a more generic drugs and gangs based detective series in Season 2. I mean, the Bhullar family is still a good plot and acted well by all involved, but...why pivot away from the psychological thriller aspects?
Anyway, I will be watching this series solely because of Kylie and Katherine...and maybe even Janina if she lasts beyond season 2.

Thus show was really good for the first nine episodes and then it quickly went down hill.
