The comedy will return for Season 2.
June 14, 2021
Peacock announced today that Girls5eva has been picked up for a second season. Coming just over a month after its freshman release, the good news reflects a strong start for the streaming comedy, which has garnered acclaim from both critics and viewers.
The half-hour series follows the members of an all-girl pop group that had their 15 minutes of fame as a one-hit-wonder in the 1990s. When their song is sampled by a popular young rapper, its members reunite to give their dream of pop stardom one more chance. They may be grown women balancing family life and their careers, but maybe they can also be Girls5eva again.
Look for Season 2 of Girls5eva in 2022.

Really NBC/Peacock? You cancel Zoey's and renew this show?!?!?I watched the entire cringe-worthy 1st season and can't believe it's being renewed.

It was okay... I think the Paula Pell casting was a HORRIBLE choice. Not that I dislike her as an actress, but she looks at least 15 years older than the others... and almost a foot shorter. Just doesn't fit the "image" a girl band would have been build around. She doesn't come across as though she "let herself go" at all - she was merely constructed differently from the start.
