The sci-fi drama will continue in 2022.

Epix announced today that War of the Worlds has been picked up for a third season, with production having recently begun. The good news comes with three episodes remaining in the sci-fi drama's sophomore run.
A reimagining of H.G. Wells' classic novel, the series begins with astronomers in present-day Europe detecting a peculiar transmission from another galaxy. It's not long before intelligent extra-terrestrial life is descending on Earth and quickly wiping out most of mankind with devastating attacks, leaving only pockets of humanity in a deserted world. As the invaders hunt and kill the survivors, those alive are left asking who the attackers are and what they really want.
Per the network, the third season will see a turning point in the war between the survivors and aliens. A new partnership will form, and they will face an opposition more dangerous than ever. Look for Season 3 of War of the Worlds in 2022.

Against better judgment I decided to watch this season. Could've been really good if they'd stuck to the original story. Now it's just a confusing hodge podge that isn't interesting.

Marco55, I'm with you. But these ridiculous oversights or convenient neglect of the bleeding obvious infects most sci-fi. Hollywood was putting out sci-fi for years with steam operated doors on spaceships - really tacky. Even the latest Star Trek had massive inconsistencies. Space ships that fall apart with blocks of cement littering the floor and people walking through them as they were CGI and nobody checked continuity. But I suspend my criticism and just follow the drama aspect.

2nd season was way better than the 1st one. But... how can there be a 3rd? The story is finished, all riddles solved...

I just watched the first season and I found it quite boring.It was amusing that the aliens ground force seem to fire bullets when they are suppose to be advanced.Also some people kill them with handguns but the soldiers can't with automatic weapons and I guess they have no grenades also. I have to subscribe to Epix to see season 2 so I guess I won't be seeing that season.

Must admit I'm glad its not cancelled
But this season was beginning to bore me , i hope they have a good story arc next season ...but this one was a little much this season , carrying the virus etc etc done before

Im with Steve, I got fed up with it mid way through S2 as it was just boring, its a Sci Fi missing the Sci.

Really good show. Great characters. My only complaint is the subtitles are too small. Hope they have an endgame. I do not want to sit here 2 years from now complaining about this show being canceled on a cliff hanger.
