Showtime announced today that Yellowjackets has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes five episodes into the drama's freshman run, which is off to a solid start.
Since its November premiere the show has been garnering strong praise from critics, even recently picking up two Critics' Choice Television Award nominations for Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series. The show has also found a healthy audience, having been seen by over 4 million viewers across multiple platforms.
In Yellowjackets, a team of high school girls soccer players were involved in a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness 25 years ago. In present day, we learn about their lives over that time, and how they went from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans. We also see the lives they've attempted to piece back together, proving that the past can never really be left behind and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Not surprising news, very well made w/ a great cast and story too. Hopefully they can keep it as interesting in season 2, not sure since it seems they can wrap it up nicely after one season.
