Apple TV+ announced today that The Afterparty has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes ahead of this Friday's freshman finale, which caps an 8-episode run that garnered a favorable reception from critics.
The streaming service took to Twitter with a cryptic tweet about the renewal, disguising it as a cooking recipe titled 'Fatter Therapy A Stew, Soon', which unscrambled becomes 'The After Party Season Two'.
The series follows a group of high school classmates who gather for a reunion, but their night of reminiscing is interrupted by the murder of one of their own. Episodes each feature a retelling of the night's events from a different character's perspective.

Hit or miss... some episodes were FAR FAR more watchable than others. It wasn't horrible (other than the "musical" episode). But it was overall pedestrian in its writing. I'll probably catch season 2... hopefully it's a bit better. .... and I really wish someone would tell Haddish she could get that thing removed from her face in 5 minutes and it'll heal with a very minute scar that won't be such an EYE MAGNET to viewers. I had a similar mole removed on my right cheek.... it's worth the procedure.

A funny mystery show that never cheats its audience. Looking forward to a second season.... Just hoping the ensemble is good.
