No Season 2 for the supernatural horror series.
March 24, 2022
It is being reported that Archive 81 has been cancelled by Netflix after just one season. The news comes two months after the horror drama released its 8-episode freshman run on the streaming service. The show didn't really sustain much buzz after its release, though it fared quite well with critics.
Based on the horror podcast of the same name, the series follows an archivist who takes a job reconstructing the videotaped work of a documentary filmmaker. Soon he finds himself pulled into the vortex of a mystery involving the missing director and a demonic cult, becoming obsessed with saving her from a fate she met 25 years ago.

To huh… Netflix released 457 original content shows in 2021. That means 150 of those wont come back on their stats which you stated and is true. I’d rather follow a streaming channel like Apple plus who has a few series and sticks by all of them because they are higher quality. Netflix needs to come o it with a limited amount of series each year and then stick by them.

Netflix is cancelling shows because it's losing streamers! Here in a few years Netflix won't even exist anymore.

I really enjoyed this show! Different interesting storyline and likeable characters! And 8 was a perfect episode number as it didn't drag on or become long winded! Gutted its been cancelled :(

I think you need to check your figures Andrew. Netflix actually gives 66% of it's shows at least 2 seasons.. unless there is a production issue or they are REALLY bad .. like this show was.

Let’s be honest. Netflix is cancelling 66 percent of their shows after one season. I liked this show but I watched it knowing it had a 2/3rds chance of being cancelled. It was slow but for those who waited to the end it was worth it. But, that being said I’m not really watching first seasons anymore on Netflix as I’m tired of being left on cliffhangers. Here’s some great advice. Wait till a season 2 has been green lit and filmed and then watch season 1. Netflix really needs to change their strategy though as they are bleeding subscribers who are tired of the constant cancellations.

.. It sucked....
I watched 6/8ths of season 1 and was just BORED entirely. Fell asleep OFTEN causing me to rewatch some of them. Why I don't know. At some point I had to ask myself "what the hell am I watching this for? Paint drying is more engaging." I didn't even bother finishing the season 1 (which is rare).

How disappointing. This was a great slow burn, and now we are left on a cliffhanger forever. I should have waited to watch until I knew it would be renewed or not.

Knew it was coming. It had some decent parts, but overall each episode felt like it was 4 hrs long and really went no where.

Why!? It was in the top ten for many weeks, and ended with a great cliffhanger.
