The drama's upcoming season will be its last.
May 12, 2022
The CW has cancelled In The Dark, with its upcoming fourth season slated to be its last. The drama's final 13-episode run will premiere on June 6 and air over the summer months. It's not clear at this time if the story will have a proper ending.
The series follows a flawed, blind young woman named Murphy, whose life takes an unexpected turn when she comes across a friend's lifeless body while walking with her guide dog. But when the body disappears before the police arrive, they are reluctant to believe her story. That leaves Murphy on a quest to find the truth about what really happened to her friend.

Chris, we can have hope, the filming production is set to be over around May 31. Really short to have another script written but around 2 weeks to make some changes at least to present a sort of conclusion. :)
But my decision is made, with so MANY shows cancelled just for CBS and the CW, i'm done with tv shows....It's a just a waist of time. It's like they put so much money in it and don"t even give thes shows a chance. We'll never have again a show with 18th season like Grey's anatomy or Friends, 10 seasons... That's sad. But it's really irritating for viewers to get deep in a show and never have an end.

MX - normally this would be marked as concluded, but filming of Season 4 began last year. It's unknown if they planned S4 as the final season at the time or not.
If the showrunners did not know that this would be the final season at the time, we still may not get a proper conclusion.

Oops, sorry i meant in 2022 and "the rating of season 4". We've already had season 3 in 2021. The 3 seasons had equal ratings so it's not about that. But in that case it's a good decision. Murphy and her friends have already escaped so much. It wouldn't be credible to do many seasons.

Sometimes you give us a heart attack. A decision to stop the show and make a final season or "as a final season" the current season is not the same at all than "cancelled". For In the Dark, it's already known that we'll have a fourth season in 2023 and so it has been decided today that it would be the last. It's not cancelling a show. (We don't even know the ratings of season 3 yet so it's not about that). It's deciding to end a show but in a good way, before it goes bad. Then, we'll have a proper, decent finale.
It's not like cancelling Relic Hunter in 2022 without many answers. Yes I'm still mad about that ^^.
