No Season 2 for the sci-fi drama.

It is being reported by Deadline that Prime Video has cancelled Night Sky after just one season. The news comes six weeks after the sci-fi drama released its 8-episode freshman run.
The series garnered generally positive reviews upon its premiere in May. While the streaming service does not release viewership data, the show likely fell short of expectations on that front, leading to the quick cancellation.
Night Sky stars Sissy Spacek and J.K. Simmons as Irene and Franklin York, an aging couple who discovered a chamber buried in their backyard years ago that leads to a mysterious, deserted planet. They have always kept this secret to themselves... until now. When an enigmatic young man enters the picture, the Yorks' quiet life is turned upside down, as they come to learn that the mystifying chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be more than they ever could have imagined.

I liked the show and was very interested in seeing who lived in the city they found at the end of the season. Too bad.

Great actors, good premise, slow as poop moving script! Maybe real people should write the screen plays. Not the first syfy to be cancelled for the same reasons. What ever they're paying these screen writers it's too much.
