The sci-fi drama is off to a solid start.

NBC announced today that Quantum Leap's freshman season is getting a little longer. The network has ordered six additional episodes of the sci-fi drama, bringing its total to 18 for Season 1.
A continuation of the 1989 series of the same name, the show is off to a strong start for the network. Through its first three episodes, it ranks as this fall's top new show among adults 18-49.
Quantum Leap takes place 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team led by physicist Ben Song has been assembled to restart the project to try and understand the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. But everything changes when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving his team behind to figure out why he did it.

Why can't all people just be who they are without someone having a problem with it? I mean, if we are forced to look at your gut hanging out every time you hit the Wal-Mart, why can't a flamboyant gay individual be themselves without ridicule? Also, why is "woke" a bad word to you? You enjoy being ignorant?

The show has potential. Dean Stockwell did an excellent job always coming in with a lit cigar. Sitting on things or places he should be.

It's a rehash of the 1960's "Time Tunnel."

The show is actually not bad, I have enjoyed each episode so far. As always the Required "Gay" character in the show is not an "In your face GAY, finger snap Z" character so its not distracting and the character is actually well played. Nice to see some normal inclusion rather then the force "Woke" of today.

The ending to the original show basically says that Sam can control his leaping and return home whenever he wants - the fact he never returned home would suggest that he decided to continue leaping.
That said, it also suggests that he died on one of his leaps (either of old age or a leap that went wrong) - if they "fix" the ending, it would mean that all the people he helped after that final episode, would go back to their original miserable history - not sure I want the ending fixed.
The only "fix" I can see that would work, would be Ben meeting Sam, with Sam explaining why he hasn't and won't be returning home - possibly with Ben agreeing with him and continuing to leap himself.

@Sonya They said they want to work with him again but the ball is in Bakula's court. Hopefully he agrees to do it.

The original had a bad ending at the time, but we wouldn't be here watching this show without it. I'm loving the tie in with the old show.

Great opportunity to bring back Scott Bacula for a 2 part episode where they can fix the horrible ending of the original series.

Nice! I didn't expect to, but I like it so far. It's thankfully not too modern, but more like a show from 10-20 years ago, with small episode stories and one big season story intertwined.
