No Season 3 for the sci-fi drama.
April 5, 2024
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Quantum Leap after two seasons. The news comes less than two months after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 13-episode sophomore run. The move is not really a surprise, as it was one of the network's lowest-rated scripted series.
A continuation of the 1989 show of the same name, Quantum Leap takes place 30 years after Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team led by physicist Ben Song has been assembled to restart the project to try and understand the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. But everything changes when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving his team behind to figure out why he did it.

Looks like this show had a lot of fans watching it given the amount of comments here. I am sad to see it cancelled. Having 2 travelers would had been a great update to the show. Plus pissing off all the woke, not woke people was a bonus.

.. this was a lame remake... not one single bit of charm from the original.. just too much input from the "diversity and inclusion" agent. It had no real-world charm to any of it. Never should have made it to a second season.

@Burglar
I did not watch the first 7 episodes.
I figured it was garbage. I tuned in on some slow nights during the last half of season one. It caught my interest.
Season two was pretty good. It's a shame you watched the first ones and cleared your dvr. Granted, I likely don't have time to go back and see how this reboot started. Your comments did help me recover 7 hours (minus commercials) of my media viewing time.

I'll make it quick to stay on point.
@Burglar - Flash Gordon reboot was awesome. So new. Fresh. and activated memberberries.
@Just Keith - That was english, with too many line spaces and no spellcheck.
Lets get back on point with educayted, (thats for you Keith) critical criticism. Without doing spoilers.... don't we all think that the end of season two does work? Of course we want more. But the voices who want more are drowned out by crybabies who have probably never seen a real dumpster with contained fire.
The end of season two sets up a lot of great possibilities in story lines, could fit in Sam, and it did not jump the shark. 'cept for the megalomaniac uber-investor bit. It was alright. Veiled social commentary. Honestly I thought he was more a critique of the military machine, and impossible altruistic blendings of private, govt, and public sectors. And not too much of a jab at elon.

There was never any point to this remake. The original was always better. Can't say I'll miss it.

This is some bull$hit! I greatly enjoyed the original and was super excited when the new series was announced. I watched every episode of each season. Were some better than others, of course. That's the way any show is. I still enjoyed all of it. I don't care if people consider shows "woke" or not. I watch them for entertainment purposes, not political ones. And I was entertained. Network television likes to get us interested in a great show, especially the unique ones, before slapping us all in the face with a cancellation. Yet they will keep/start a new police/hospital/fire department/lawyer show forever and a day lol. Don't get me wrong, I do watch my share of those types of shows. But I do want escapism also. That is the type of show that Quantum Leap is. It's not meant to be reality but an escape from it. I truly hope another network or streaming service will pick it up and keep the story alive.

Put this show into the dustbin of reboots like Flash Gordon, V, and others that turned into garbage. I tried, Lord knows I tried to watch this show, even to the point of just watching in the background w/half an ear, but halfway through this season I deleted the rest of the shows on my DVR. Exceptionally poor writing, bad acting, and let's be honest, it was woke off the charts. I can get through some of it, but this was off the reservation.
I'm really saddened and disappointed that I was waiting for this reboot for 30 years for nothing more than a dumpster fire.
