Netflix has announced that it is expanding their new 'Monster' franchise with an order for two additional installments. The news comes six weeks after the premiere of Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which has since gone into the record books as the seventh-most viewed streaming program in the US in a single week. Now closing in on 1 billion view hours, the show is the second most popular English TV season on Netflix.
From Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the first installment in the now-anthology series examines the horrific true crimes of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, with a focus on the underserved victims and their communities impacted by the systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed a notorious serial killer to continue his murderous spree for over a decade.
There are no details on the subjects of future 'Monster' installments, except to say that they will focus on other monstrous figures who have had an impact on society.
