It is being reported that East New York has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes ahead of this Sunday's season finale, which will now serve as the series ender.
The procedural drama follows Regina Haywood, the newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood of Brooklyn. She leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to utilize her creative methods of law enforcement during the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification.

I really wanted to like this show but I watched 3 episodes and gave up. I don't mind the push to a diverse cast but woke themes completely overrode storylines and acting to point the show was UNWATCHABLE. Complete waste of the talents of Jimmy Smits & Amanda Warren. No surprise whatsoever this was cancelled.
