Netflix announced today that Virgin River has been picked up for a sixth season. The good news comes early, as the romantic drama is not slated to return for Season 5 until sometime this fall.

Since its premiere in 2019, the series has been a strong performer for the streaming service. Season 4, which aired in 2022, garnered over 275 million hours viewed in its first month and ranked #1 in the Netflix Top 10 for two weeks.

Based on Robyn Carr's bestselling book series, Virgin River follows a nurse practitioner looking for a fresh start. After moving from Los Angeles to a remote northern California town, she is surprised by the welcome she receives and who she finds there.
