My wife loved and still loves the old Perry Mason. She could not watch this one. Remakes seem to not ever just be about the story.

This is super disappointing! Season 1 was pretty good but season 2 was phenomenal. One of the most visually stunning shows on TV with a really fun to watch ensemble cast.

Did the two seasons end in an acceptable condition?

(and has another network ever picked up a HBO cancelled show?)

10 years from now HBO will be a Jeopardy question. Whoever is running HBO into the ground better enjoy the money now. After fucking up HBO, your next opportunities will be slim. Fucking Genius.

I know that the ratings may noy have been great. Season two of this show was far better than the first, which was pretty good. The second season was extremely well acted from Rhys to Chalk to Whigham, and without a doubt Juliet Rylance. HBO or whatever it wants to call itself is killing it's brand. Euphoria was good for one season. The Last Of Us is solid. John Oliver is fun, but they will probably ax him soon enough. I look at all the upcoming shows and all I see is Warrior and The Righteous Gemstones. HBO stood for originality. Now it stands for mediocrity.

Ugh, thought the second season was even better than the first! Sad to see it go.

I enjoyed it, but I probably won't miss it either. It was a good show though.

I liked the series while it lasted, although I can do without it as there's just so much TV to watch without Perry Mason.
As the series seemed to be filmed in Los Angeles location (on location, but taking place ~90 years ago) I found it fun to look for evidence of modernity in the scenes. The only thing I can recall seeing which probably didn't exist in 1921 were the ramped curbs at intersections made for wheel-chair usage.
I never watched the old Perry Mason series with Raymond Burr ('57-'66). I was likely too young and more into cartoons; then later, military and spy tv shows back then, but do remember the show being on, probably watched by others in my family. The old theme song was one of the greats.
Back to the recently cancelled series, I liked how the story had historical elements or events in the background and the characters were very well portrayed (also realizing some of the actors were not from the U.S.A.; Perry and Della).
I liked the low episode counts and would prefer being able to binge watch all of them at once, however.

For me, "the jury is out" (see what I did there?) as to whether I keep subscribing to the current "Max" app. I might watch the forthcoming "Avatar 2" movie and S2 of "Peacemaker", but I can also do without both of these.

Another brilliant move by the brain trust over at Warner-Discovery. Zaslav has been taking apart the entire brand brick-by-brick. Just awful leadership over there.
