The CW announced today that it has picked up the second season of Family Law. The network acquired the Canadian legal drama last year, airing the first season in the fall. The series has already been renewed through Season 3 up north by original network Global TV.
The show follows personal injury lawyer Abigail Bianchi, who is suspended due to a drinking problem and only allowed to practice law again if she finds a senior lawyer willing to take her on during a probationary period. The only man willing to take the risk is her estranged father, who runs the top family law practice in the city. Now Abby has to work for her dad and her half siblings in order to get her life back on track.
Season 2 of Family Law premieres on Friday, July 7 at 8:00pm.

Season 2 has already aired in Canada and its weird CW is saying they picked up Season 2 of Family Law. When it is already airing in the USA.
Just say they picked it up, unrelated it was announced that Law and Order: Toronto: Criminal Intent is being produced and will air in 2024. I just don't see it lasting!

Yay! This is great news - I really enjoyed the first season!! There is absolutely nothing on network TV during the summer!! I need at least one drama to look forward to watching weekly...and here it is!!

The CW is definitely still a thing - they're just going to be airing a lot of imported shows now.
And being a fan of this show, I'm glad to hear of this news. I don't really hear anything about the status of shows from other countries, so it's good to know they'll be showing S2.

This was quite confusing. 1) I thought "the CW" was gone. Merged or bought or something. 2) We already saw S2 in the Great White North, so how is it news that it's being shown by someone else? 3) I can only guess this another case of the peculiar philosophy that the internet stops at the borders of the continental USA.
