The dystopian drama has more story to tell.
June 14, 2023
Apple TV+ announced today that Silo has been picked up for a second season. The early renewal comes with three episodes still remaining in the sci-fi drama's freshman run.
"It has been enormously fulfilling to see the engrossing, atmospheric and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic Silo quickly become Apple's number one drama series," said Matt Cherniss, head of programming, Apple TV+. "As audiences around the world have become gripped by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating subterranean world, viewership only continues to climb, and we are so excited for more secrets of the silo to be revealed in season two."
Based on Hugh Howey's bestselling trilogy of dystopian novels, the series is set in a mile-deep silo that houses the last ten thousand people on earth, protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. Nobody knows when or why the silo was built, and anyone who tries to find out faces deadly consequences. Juliette is an engineer looking for answers about a loved one's murder who tumbles upon a mystery that goes deeper than she could have ever imagined.

Lando mentioned the show is based on a trilogy of text. Lets hope the show stays contained and and brings a small set of seasons. Wouldn't we all love to discover a show like this, or see it brought from page without excessive additions?
I almost had a problem around episode 6. SPOILER
The people in the silo don't know what the bright twinkley lights on the outside outside video screen are.
That moment almost jumped the shark mad max the before times.
I think there is more to it.
SPOLIERS I AM GUESSING
Haven't read the books, but this seems like
There are hints of things.
My guess: aliens went to our war destroyed earth and seeded it with silos.
ITS A PEZ DISPENSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS NOT ILLEGAL.
OR THAT WATCH.
This show has been overwhelmingly.... not bad.
Will follow season two.

The worst thing that can happen to a show like this is to become a hit and get renewed. You can only stretch out the central mystery so far. Look at "Lost".

Of there is one thing Silo manages to do well, its retaining the mystery about Silo while answering smaller questions and solving smaller mysteries along the way, which kepps my interest and intrigue alive. This is something 'From' should do, which is shamelessly copying the "mystery box" way of doing things where more mysteries are added in the guise of solving present ones. Kudos to Silo for not falling into the LOST/From trap.

One of very few shows in recent years that grapped my attention. There hasn't been a bad episode so far. I hope they can keep this up.

The series is great because it has been successfuly adapting and following the Trilogy Novels it is based on. Instead of trying to wokefy the original script to today's Hollywood propaganda.

Awesome show. Really well done and frightening vision of a controlled society. Like red china. Is the world deadly outside? Or not? Was the world wiped out ? Did they go into the silo before 2005 the tech is from then or earlier. ? And the disaster never happened? But the truth never came out. Why would the silo never be found if society did not collapse? Or it did. Apple has some great series. Foundation , invavion , drops of gold , the paul rudd bad shrink series..

Cool, now I can start watching it. I enjoyed the books so it'll be interesting to see how they translate to the show.
