The veteran reality series returns in October.

Discovery Channel has announced that Naked and Afraid is coming back for a 16th season. The upcoming season will be the reality series' second in 2023; Season 15 aired this past spring. The wait for its return won't be a long one, as a premiere date has already been set for October 15.
Each episode of the show follows two survivalists who just met, and together they work to survive in a remote location for 14 to 21 days, depending on their location. The partners must procure means of shelter, food, water and clothing within their environment.

If you started watching this amazing show hoping to see nudity, then that's just weird.
I cannot speak on what the creators meant it to be, but my theory is that's it's men and women stripped of EVERYTHING except a bag to likely carry the battery pack for their microphone and items they brought.
You know, true survival. You eat what you find or kill, drink disgusting looking water, get eaten alive by everything I'm terrified of and go to some of the most dangerous places.
Just a man and a woman, trying hard to survive and hoping to thrive.
I compare this to a "modern-day" Adam and Eve.
Please keep this and the spin-off shows coming, myself and everyone I know love all of them.

For the season, why don't you take away blocking body parts. If contestants aren't willing to do so, then they shouldn't participate. And please no cry babies.

I personally live each and every season and episode that has aired. Had the been more than one show in Africa? Yes. But that was also with different contestants so each one was different. As for period not gaining any weight on the show that's because they affect looking hard enough to find food and waiting to long to tap. The producers affect going to our anyone in a place that doesn't have any resources and make period starve to death. I've been waiting very impatiently for another episode to air in why if the message she afraid does they have put on. Please producers!!! I NEED MORE NAKED AND AFRAID... PLEASE!!!!!

Where are the rest of season 16 Naked and Afraid. They only showed like 3 new shows and they haven't been on since. Whats up with that?

I think it's overdone. The series had its uses. After seeing even survival "experts" struggle to survive, and none prosper, you had to wonder how the human race ever made it past the plains of Africa. I came to the conclusion that all the best places on earth to survive are already overpopulated and the places used in the show were the places that couldn't support humans.
And there was a small group of returning survivors who became experts in making it to the end. I don't think anybody ever gained weight on these shows, but some at least were able to make it in good shape.
But after awhile it became too predictable, even with all the stunt casting.

I guess they renewed it to have additional persons to funnel to the spin-offs: Last One Standing and XL.

Why?
There had already been 15 seasons of the SAME THING repeated over and over and over and over and over. Is a 16h season supposed to be ANYTHING other than what has already been aired in the previous 15 seasons?
Nothing new, interesting, or previously unseen ever airs in this series now that it's been on so long. This is why they've started creating all the spinoffs... to TRY and make what has become droll and mundane more interesting.
The initial hook of "naked" (but no actual nudity seen) wore off after season 2...
This show is a zombie.. it's kept alive by those behind the scenes.. but no one who is uninvolved in creating/producing/starting/advertising, etc. is asking for more seasons.
