The Canadian medical drama is concluding its story.
October 11, 2023
It has been announced by Canada's CTV that Transplant will coming to an end after its fourth season. The medical drama recently premiered its now-final run for Canadian audiences and will be premiering its third season Thursday night on NBC.
The series was acquired by NBC in 2020 to help shore up its fall lineup, which had been affected by the COVID-19 production shutdown. Earlier this year the network announced that it had picked up Seasons 3 and 4 of the show, so stateside viewers still have a good number of episodes to look forward to.
Transplant follows Dr. Bashir "Bash" Hamed, a Syrian doctor who fled his troubled country and moved to Canada with his younger sister Amira. Hoping to use his battle-tested skills to return to his career in medicine, Bash and Amira work to build a new life while dealing with the ups-and-downs that come along with their new surroundings. Bash's life experiences and unique medical background allows him to navigate a new environment and forge relationships after earning a coveted residency in the Emergency Department of one of Toronto's best hospitals.

Just because it gets canceled on TV, it has a large loyal audience both in Canada and the United States. Perhaps one of the streaming services could pick it up and run with it. They did that with other shows, Lucifer, All Rise, etc... Don't give up hope yet. But, if the 4th season is the end, it was a delightful story to watch unfold. I loved the actor who played Jed Bishop. He was a bit of a heel in Sparticus on Starz, but this role he was absolutely brilliant.

I have been watching this show since the beginning
I am a dedicated viewer who never missed an episode
I’m so sad to learn that this wonderful series has been cancelled
I struggle to find programs which are based on true life experiences and which are really worth listening to. I really hope that the network change their minds and bring back this heart warming series!!!
I will truly miss it

For those watching the show on NBC, we're currently seeing Season 3...so, Season 4 may be summer or fall of 2024, on NBC

I am shocked! I am speechless! I did not think that this wonderful Canadian medical, drama was ending. I did not think that on Nov 24, 2023, I was seeing the last episode!!!! why???? I am very disappointed and sad, and hope that CTV re-thinks this decision.

This was one of the best Canadian series with such great actors! What a shame it has to be canceled when it has such a large audience...This is such a shame because medical shows with great stories don't come around all of the time. This show and the people will be missed...
