Word is out that Praise Petey has been cancelled by Freeform after one season. Creator Anna Drezen let her followers know the sad news in an Instagram post, expressing thanks to everyone who watched and supported the show. She noted that episodes are still available on Hulu for the time being.

The animated comedy premiered this summer with a 10-episode run that garnered a generally positive reception. The show follows Petey, a New York City girl who had it all until her life came crashing down around her. As luck would have it, her late father has bestowed her a mysterious gift that gives her a new lease on life: She has inherited the community of New Utopia, his small-town cult.
