The comedy will not return for a Season 5.

It is being reported that TBS has cancelled Miracle Workers after four seasons. The news comes three months after the comedy wrapped 'End Times,' which aired in July after a nearly two-year absence. The show was the cable network's last original live-action scripted series.
The anthology format of Miracle Workers saw it tell a new story each time out. Season 1 was based on Simon Rich's novel "What in God's Name," while Season 2, subtitled "Dark Ages," featured the same four main cast members in a medieval setting as a group of villagers navigating life in time of inequality and misinformation. Season 3's "Oregon Trail" was set in the American West around the mid-1800s with a small-town preacher teaming up with a wanted outlaw and a liberated prairie wife to lead a wagon train west. Its fourth and final season was set in a dystopian future following a wasteland warrior and a ruthless warlord who settle down in the suburbs.

It just kept getting worse and season 4 was complete trash.

The only good season was season 1, they should have just continued with that cuz it managed to garner quite an audience, it was always going to be very difficult to keep an audience when the genres and the settings of the show kept changing and not everyone was going to stick around cuz people have different tastes.

I watched a few shows of each season, and there were a few laughs with some really creative moments. But at the end of the day it still felt like somebody's vanity project.

most networks that produce content are owned by large corporations that own many channels..wb/discovery corp owns around twenty networks etc. so tnt tbs probably just cannot afford new shows anymore. Even excellent shows like the alienist. Or this one ,which was always good..

@theotherguy It seems like that’s happening with a few channels. TBS, TNT, USA, Comedy Central all seem like they’re ditching regular scripted TV. FX has also been trying to get into live sports as well, but they’re also one of the only cable channels still producing high quality scripted shows.

I agree with others that season 4 was the weakest, but honestly it was a great show with a superb cast.

What's left of TBS? They had a great run of scripted comedy, but what now? Just a dumping ground syndication and sports?

I really love this show so I agree with the other commenters here that this is sad news. This past season was kind of weak but it still was a great show overall.

It was a great show and I’m going to miss it. Daniel Radcliffe is such a talented actor.
