No Season 3 for the anthology drama.

It is being reported that Cruel Summer has been cancelled after two seasons. The news comes five months after the anthology drama wrapped its 10-episode sophomore run. The show was one of just two scripted dramas on the cable network. The other, 'Good Trouble,' was also cancelled today after five seasons.
Each season of Cruel Summer featured a different cast and followed the mystery surrounding a teenager's disappearance or death, told by showing the story unfold across three different timelines. Season 1 was set in the 1990s, following the mystery behind a girl's kidnapping. Season 2 took place around the year 2000 and followed the friendship between two girls and the mysterious death of the boy they both liked.

I agree with the previous comments. Where are the writers? You came off strike, wth? Show runners, what are you doing? If I see one more reality show I'll stop watching completely. Already only watch old movies now anyway. Please try to remember there are older adults who grew up on drama and still like them. We have enough reality in our own lives, no need to watch it too.

i defiantly will get rid of freeform now since this is the 2nd show i watch on freeform that is canceled

Really missed Olivia Holt, but that's the risk of changing casts each season. Show had some great plot (and reveal) twists. Freeform used to be full of high risk shows, but like so many other platforms, they are going for the cheapest shows possible.

I agree with Paul. There aren't many (any) shows like Cruel Summer left, and it sucks that we only got two seasons. I really enjoyed it.

Bummer I loved this. All for different things like Cruel Summer. FreeForm please do something similar with new shows. PLL and Cruel Summer were what made this channel good.
