Paramount+ wants more of the Kelsey Grammer comedy.
February 22, 2024
Paramount+ announced today that Frasier has been picked up for a second season. The news comes two months after the comedy wrapped its freshman run on the streaming service.
"Kelsey made a triumphant return as one of the most iconic and beloved characters on television," said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+. "The new series introduced Frasier to a whole new generation while reminding fans of Kelsey's truly timeless portrayal of Dr. Crane. We're so excited to see what the creative team and superb cast serve up for season two."
A sequel series to the hit 1990s sitcom of the same name, the half-hour series follows now-retired psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he enters the next chapter of his life, returning to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to explore, and some old dreams to finally fulfill.

Could stand for a slightly longer season . . . Even 12 episodes will do.

After watching the new season, I went back and watched the entire original series. Then I watched the new season again. It feels much more cohesive now. Hopefully, Niles and Daphne will make an appearance in season 2. I only wish 22-24 episodes were still the norm for a season. It's hard to create a compelling story arc with subtle reveals in 10 episodes.

Happy to hear this is coming back. So many of these revivals only last one season.

It is not the same without Pierce & Mahoney but it is much better than the Neighborhood or Ghosts drivels on CBS/P+
Unless they can find some hits, CBS' reign on sitcoms is about to end.

1 episode was enough for me.

It's nowhere near as good as the original, but it's ok…
