No Season 2 for the action dramedy.

It is being reported that The Brothers Sun has been cancelled by Netflix after just one season. The news comes less than two months after the action dramedy released its 8-episode freshman run.
Its January debut was met with a positive reception from both critics and viewers, but its audience numbers likely fell below the streamer's expectations. It did spend five weeks in Netflix's Top 10 list for English language series, but only made it as high as #2.
In the show, the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, forcing his eldest son, legendary killer Charles "Chairleg" Sun to travel to Los Angeles in order to protect his mother and brother. But as Taipei's deadliest societies and a new rising faction fight for dominance - Charles, his brother and their mother must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly mean before one of their enemies kills them all.

This is a miniseries with a closed ending, right? That's what I thought at least... I don't understand the cancellation announcement.

It was about a drug dealing triad guy. I personally do not like watching shows about drug dealers mostly. And chinese characters are stuck in martial arts and crime.

Netflix doesn’t give anything a chance to grow anymore. They’re going to be relying solely on existing movies and shows being brought in, rather than newly created content.

This makes me mad. I really enjoyed this series, I was waiting for season 2. The action and drama was perfect.

Its producers should sell it to FX to continue on with Season 2 and forward. The streamer tends to like Asian-theme series.
