No Season 3 for the Jeff Bridges drama.

It is being reported that FX has cancelled The Old Man after two seasons. The news comes less than two months after the drama wrapped its sophomore run. While the show was generally well-received, an extended break of over two years between seasons, due to the writers and actors strikes, likely factored into a drop in the ratings in Season 2.
Based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, the series stars Jeff Bridges as Dan Chase, a former CIA agent who has been living off the grid for years. When he realizes an unknown assassin is targeting him, Dan is forced out of hiding and finds himself chased by a friend from his past.

Someone (other than Hulu) pick up this show - you will not be disappointed. There were truly the usual knowns but also unknown, amazing superstars in this cast! No brainer, great series covering current world happenings.

What is the problem with FX, everybody in Canada loved this show and I can't imagine that I won't be able to see the end. Shame on you FX.

Sad. It's always the intelligent ones thatget chopped, mostly due to a lack of viewership. This one was a good mix of action, vi0l€n¢€ & suspense, mystery & drama. I would've loved watching a lot many seasons more.

Jeff Bridges,all the cast excellent and my eyes and ears don't leave the room when its on. Sad.

I agree with you Mike. I just think that the creators can write an ending without cliffhangers, so if the show is dumped by the network we viewers are not wondering what happens to Howard. I love the acting on this show 100%. You forgot to mention Amy Brenneman who was fantastic! I agree with every comment on this page.

Sucks to hear. I enjoyed this show a lot. The performances from Jeff Bridges, Alia Shawkat, John Lithgow, and many others were excellent.
That said, the comment about how the creators should be ashamed of themselves is very funny. Be mad at the bosses if you want but it’s not the fault of the writers that FX cancelled their show before they reached a conclusion.

Sad to see it go because I liked the cast and the premise of the show. But not really surprised due to the gap between seasons and the lack of interest that grew with me with season 2. I thought season 1 was great which left me waiting in anticipation for season 2. But once season 2 got here, the more I watched, the less interesting I found the story. Had high hopes but season 2 was a let down.

Maybe NetFlix could pick up the show where it dropped off and stream it. FX cancelled a great show like this but continues on a rediculous “American Horror….” so sad…
