No Season 2 for the dark comedy.
February 21, 2025
It is being reported by Deadline that The Sticky has been cancelled by Prime Video after one season. The news comes two months after the dark comedy released its 6-episode freshman run on the streaming service.
Inspired by a real-life 2012 heist where over $18 million worth of maple syrup was stolen from Quebec's national reserves, the show follows Ruth Landry, a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer whose livelihood is threatened when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. Turning to crime, she teams up with a hot-tempered Bostonian mobster and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard to carry out a multi-million dollar heist on Quebec's maple syrup surplus.

Prime Video barely gave it a chance to find its audience. It’s frustrating to see yet another creative show axed without room to grow. Really disappointing news for fans who were hoping for more.
