Syfy announced today that The Ark has been renewed for a third season. The news comes five months after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 12-episode sophomore run.
"We're thrilled to launch another season of The Ark!" said co-creator & co-showrunner Dean Devlin in a statement. "Back in space again and the best is yet to come!"
Set 100 years in the future, The Ark follows mankind starting planetary colonization missions as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first mission utilizes a spacecraft known as Ark One, but it encounters a catastrophic event that causes mass destruction and loss of life. With over a year left to go before reaching their target planet, the remaining crew must find a way to stay on course while dealing with a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership.
Season 2 ended with the remaining remnants of humanity establishing a new planetary home base that could also be holding more secrets than anyone anticipated. The third season promises plenty of rescue missions to be run, with Garnet taking the ship and a crew back out into space to respond to distress signals for lost Arks that haven't yet made it to safety.
Look for Season 3 of The Ark in 2026.

Had given up on it as syfy usually cancels stuff after two seasons because they have the attention span of a child with ADHD who drank three cups of coffee and ate a bag of sugary cereal
