The comedy won't return for a second season.

It is being reported that Poppa's House has been cancelled by CBS after one season. The news comes ahead of next Monday's freshman finale. While its ratings were lower than other comedies on the network, the show garnered enough viewers to earn it an order for five extra episodes last November.
The series stars Damon Wayans as legendary talk radio host and happily divorced Poppa, who has his point of view challenged at work when a new female co-host is hired, and at home where he finds himself still parenting his adult son, played by his real-life son Damon Wayans Jr, who is a brilliant dreamer trying to pursue his passion while being a responsible father and husband.

I love the Wayans! Not only are they superb comedians but they are decent actors too. I was really looking forward to this show thinking that with TWO family members in the cast it would be awesome. I was wrong....bad writing?, horrible jokes and unrelatable characters made it stupid, in no way funny and impossible to watch. I think the showrunners tried to make it palatable to all types of audiences but instead made it too bland. I hope Damon Wayans gets another show soon.

It was an ok show , but not really funny. The main problem is that i was expecting something funny like My Wife and Kids and it was far from it. Also there was a chemistry problem between characters.

Really bummed - we loved this show as a family. My wife and I grew up In Living Color fans, and we're excited for Damon on TV again. My daughter quickly learned to love the show too. It was so funny, and I didn't even mind Elvin (yep, I'm old) in that annoying role. Gonna miss this very funny show.

I liked this show, the interactions between the Wayan's was good but show would have been funnier with a better supporting cast.

Damon's career is officially over on Network TV.
This show was so boring, the jokes so bad, and the fact Damon was so politically hateful to 1 side outside the show doesn't help.
Funny guy in the late 80s and early 90s , totally lost that spark.

I really wanted to love this show but did not. The jokes were forced and dated, and the storylines just plain stupid.

I’m kind of disappointed as it was a decent show. I actually thought it took a few episodes to find its voice but it seemed to get better as the episodes went on but I guess it wasn’t enough to have it renewed.

Made the HUGE mistake but giving Poppa a stupid, unrelatable, career... Only idiots in Cali think everyone having a Podcast is reasonable... then wrote a bunch of tired, cliché stories.... Love the Wayans's humor most of the time. The atmosphere was great.. end credit bloopers fantastic.. but as a series.. yeah.. it was mediocre at best.

I was excited to see Damon Wayans back in a sitcom since I loved My Wife and Kids but this show was just not funny. Both Wayans had good chemistry but the writing and humor seemed forced
