The CW announced today that Scrabble has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes five months after the game show wrapped its 12-episode freshman run. Some changes for the second season include the episode count increasing to 30, as well as a new host. Comedian Craig Ferguson will be joining the show to replace Raven-Symoné. Fellow new game show 'Trivial Pursuit' was also renewed today.
"We are excited to continue growing family game night on The CW by bringing a supersized order of 30 new episodes of both TRIVIAL PURSUIT and SCRABBLE to the network next year," said Heather Olander, Head of Unscripted Programming, The CW Network. "The one and only LeVar Burton is back as host for TRIVIAL PURSUIT and we welcome superstar comedian Craig Ferguson to The CW family as the new host of SCRABBLE. We are also incredibly grateful and lucky that Raven-Symoné will continue to work with us as executive producer of the series."
Scrabble is a fast-paced take on the global board game phenomenon, where contestants battle it out by playing a series of word-based games to win points and add words to a giant Scrabble board in the center of the set.
