Showtime announced today that Yellowjackets has been renewed for a fourth season. The news comes a month after the drama wrapped a third season that became its most-watched ever.

The show was a breakout hit for the network after its 2021 premiere. It has since garnered continued praise from critics and taken home a slew of awards. It also maintains a healthy audience with strong engagement on social media.

"Yellowjackets has become a cultural juggernaut; with season three shattering all previous records, we are thrilled to announce its renewal for a season four on Paramount+," said Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios. "Ashley and Bart have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon: a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast."

In Yellowjackets, a team of high school girls soccer players were involved in a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness 25 years ago. In present day, we learn about their lives over that time, and how they went from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans. We also see the lives they've attempted to piece back together, proving that the past can never really be left behind and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.
