Showtime announced today that Yellowjackets has been renewed for a fourth season. The news comes a month after the drama wrapped a third season that became its most-watched ever.
The show was a breakout hit for the network after its 2021 premiere. It has since garnered continued praise from critics and taken home a slew of awards. It also maintains a healthy audience with strong engagement on social media.
"Yellowjackets has become a cultural juggernaut; with season three shattering all previous records, we are thrilled to announce its renewal for a season four on Paramount+," said Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount Global and President of SHOWTIME/MTV Entertainment Studios. "Ashley and Bart have masterfully crafted an utterly singular, genre-defying phenomenon: a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and coming-of-age drama that continues to captivate audiences worldwide, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast."
In Yellowjackets, a team of high school girls soccer players were involved in a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness 25 years ago. In present day, we learn about their lives over that time, and how they went from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans. We also see the lives they've attempted to piece back together, proving that the past can never really be left behind and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

I hope this is the final season. I really didn’t enjoy season 3 at all. The show has always been dark, and I loved it for that, but season 3 was just overwhelming.

I didn't watch this during its first season cuz it just didn't seem like something I'd be into. But after season 1 was over, and I started hearing all the praise, and it started winning all kinds of awards, I figured I'd give it a try, and... boy! I was hooked! Very unique! There just isn't really anything else like it! So I'm glad to hear it's going to carry on for snother season, although it's not surprising!

Yes! I figured this would happen since the ratings were high but I was still kinda stressed after season 3 finished and there still wasn't a renewal yet. Very eager to see where season 4 goes after how season 3 ended.

I love Yellowjackets and am really happy it got renewed but I would be happier if it were renewed for a final season - the show is losing focus and I want to see their endgame while they still have chance!
