MTV announced today that RuPaul's Drag Race has been renewed for an 18th season. The news comes four months after the competition series crowned its latest winner in a season that had the show's highest-rated premiere in a number of years. Its post-show companion series 'Untucked' will also be back.

"We want to express our gratitude to Paramount for their unwavering support of the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise as we celebrate more seasons of spreading joy and laughter," said World of Wonder co-founders and executive producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato.

On the air since 2009, the award-winning series spent its first eight years on Logo TV before moving to VH1 for the next six years. It has been on MTV since 2023.

Hosted by the titular drag icon, RuPaul's Drag Race sees contestants participate in various challenges, with critiques by a panel of judges, while trying to be the last one standing - and named America's Next Drag Superstar.

Look for Season 18 in early 2026.
