HBO has ordered two more seasons of the talk show.
January 7, 2026
HBO announced today that Real Time with Bill Maher has been renewed for Seasons 25 and 26, extending its run through to 2028. The veteran talk show remains a steady performer for the cable network, due in-part to the country's increased interest in the current political landscape.
Hosted by comedian and political satirist Bill Maher, 'Real time' is a weekly talk show featuring journalists, politicians, and celebrities who join Maher in discussing current events happening around the areas of politics and the media.

I appreciate the views of his guests... and the bi-partisan discussion at times... but Bill... Bill is a self-absorbed asshole. Watch how he turns EVERY topic around to plug something he "said in the past" or referred to at some point. As if he's some sort of prophet. He thinks WAY too much of himself. I mean using an HBO show to help with your personal solar power issues in your home.... and the show tends to weight HEAVILY towards California issues at times (which the rest of the country doesn't care about)..... an indicator that Bill thinks it's all about him, when it is not.

Great news. Many shows are too far right or too far left. Bill is not exactly in the middle, but at least he is looking for the middle. He has great selection of guests from both sides of the aisle and listens to what they have to say. Plus, NEW RULES!
