Reelz announced today that On Patrol: Live has been renewed for a fifth season. The docuseries has received another 90-episode order that will see it on the air through at least January 2027.
"In today's fragmented media landscape, a pick-up of 90 episodes - 360 hours of live television - is virtually unheard of; yet REELZ has done this for four consecutive years as On Patrol: Live continues to deliver for the network and create one of the most engaged and loyal audiences in television," said CEO Stan E. Hubbard. "We couldn't be prouder to renew OPL through next January and bring viewers along for the ride."
Added host and executive producer Dan Abrams, "OPL not only chronicles the experience of law enforcement on the job, in real time, the show continues to make a real difference with our 'Missing' and 'Be on the Lookout' segments. We get the word out every week about ongoing cases of missing kids and unsolved crimes. Between our viewers and our #OPNation social footprint, since our premiere in 2022 the show has helped return 48 missing people to their loves ones and provided tips to law enforcement that have led to the capture of 96 suspects. We're so grateful to our incredible audience and thrilled to be on REELZ for another year."
The show premiered in 2022, serving as a new iteration of A&E's popular 'Live PD.' Its freshman count of 60 episodes was increased to 90 for Season 2 and each subsequent season. It continues to be one of the most powerful social-first franchises on television, and in 2025 drove hundreds of millions of impressions and tens of millions of engagements across REELZ and OPL social channels.
The series captures the patrols of a variety of America's busiest police forces in urban and rural communities. Audiences get insight about the events in real time during a typical night's work using a mix of dash cams, fixed rig, and handheld cameras. There are also citizen ride-alongs, where local residents from selected communities get a first-hand perspective on the action.
