No Season 2 for the Western drama.

It is being reported by Deadline that Netflix has cancelled The Abandons after just one season. The news comes less than two months after the Western drama released its 7-episode freshman run.
The big-budget series launched in December to decidedly mixed reviews from both viewers and critics. Viewership seemed to reflect that, as it lasted just two weeks in the Netflix Top 10 list and failed to generate any real buzz.
Set in Washington Territory in 1854, the series follows the matriarchs of two very different families - one of wealth and privilege, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts - find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath.

We watched it even knowing it was going to end on a cliff hanger. Still enjoyed it. We were a bit surprised they didn't find a way to make half the characters gay like most netflix shows.

A shame but not unexpected I feel the story came full circle. I felt Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson did their part extremely well. It did feel cobbled together times and a bit of inconsistence in the story line. As the darker side of Lena Headey's character unfolded into the finale that left the watcher feeling almost glad it was over. I have seen worse Westerns but this series was not a total waste of time, I found it entertaining and enjoyed the watching.

It was almost unwatchable. The 2 main actors can't talk properly due to the immense amount of plastic work on their faces. Gillian couldn't make a sentence longer than 4 words and whispered everything. Lena's accent was terrible. The story was so stupid. 2 warring families that don't really war. 2 matriarchs that have no clue. It was so boring and hard to watch.
