MTV announced today that RuPaul's Drag Race has been renewed for a 19th season. The news comes four months after the competition series crowned its latest winner in a season that recently received 11 Emmy nominations, with RuPaul earning his 11th consecutive nomination for Outstanding Reality or Reality Competition Program Host. Its post-show companion series 'Untucked' will also be back.
"Nearly twenty years later, what began as a dream has become an extraordinary global movement. We owe endless thanks to our partners at MTV and Paramount+, along with every queen, judge, crew member, and fan who has built RuPaul's Drag Race," said producer World of Wonder in a statement. "Drag brings people together in powerful ways – and we are honored to keep celebrating new voices and sharing iconic moments with the world."
On the air since 2009, the award-winning series spent its first eight years on Logo TV before moving to VH1 for the next six years. It has been on MTV since 2023.
Hosted by the titular drag icon, RuPaul's Drag Race sees contestants participate in various challenges, with critiques by a panel of judges, while trying to be the last one standing - and named America's Next Drag Superstar.
