This is a very BAD CALL, canceling In Plain Sight! These characters have been around long enough to resonate, and the writers are building subtlety and surprise, not to mention wit, into every episode. Mary Shannon's character's brittle cynicism is a scream, especially showcased with Marshall's, her sister's and her mother's particular warps. This is such a heady brew for savvy viewers. Don't you care about 'us' anymore? We love Mary's perpetual bad attitude -- especially when we can appreciate precisely how it developed. You can't, NO, please do not cancel this show. The other commentaries are right. Five seasons! That gets the viewers very invested in the show... and it is proof that the show has a strong following. What could you be thinking! I too am fed up with my favorite intelligent shows being cancelled.

Guys, look at the statement:
"The crime drama will end after its fifth season, which airs next year"
This is no surprise and was announced by Mary McCormack a while back.
They will have a whole season to wrap things up nicely...
BTW, Mary McCormack had her baby girl Sept 10th .

This is one of the best shows on TV. It is frustrating to have to wait so long for this show to return. Then USA brings back less desired shows such as Psych come back with new episodes twice a year. I agree bring back Army Wives, and keep Burn Notice or I will boycott USA...forever! Where is the good TV programming justice?

year of cancellations!! Yes I 100% agree.What's the point of putting a show on. We get invested in the shows, like In Plain Sight. I have to wait a friggen year for it to come on. No wonder people forget about it. Are getting that? I have a timer set for it so I get my shows. Look, I understand everything is about ratings but here is the thing, everything now is electronic so you are going to have to find something like the PPM for radio, for tv. I tivo everything. Do I watch the commercials, no more so then if I didnt speed thru them.

Get a clue people, we are tired of getting invested in these shows, only to have them cancelled. And the sad this is that all you guys think we want is reality.. in shows that is. No, I get enough reality, I want drama, humor, and some fun. This was a fantastic show. In fact, I saw do MORE episodes and advertize this stuff on radio. Then you are going to get an audience.

This is a fantastic show, extremely well written with complex well developed characters who interact with each other in captivating ways. I am very disappointed to hear that USA is cancelling In Plain Sight. Mary is one of the best examples of a strong woman on TV. I love Marshall. Please rethink your decision to cancel an excellent show.

One really strong woman with an opinion, and a gun. Too tough to handle, so you cancel? I love Mary, she says what she thinks and backs it up. I like crabby Mary, Marshall is a scream. I like the story lines, it could be endless. Please at least wrap up the cliff-hangers. Do we always have to have ditzy blonds who take off their clothes to get ratings. We real woman love Mary.

Are you freekin serious, In Plain Sight "cancelled", sure an original interesting show gone, but stupid reality sjowz still on. This last season left us with more of a want to watch. And now u pull the plug. Congrats to the on ho made that decision..

What? Cancelled??? Is Mary going to keep the baby? Is she ever gonna get together with Marshall? Will Brandi come back to get married? Wow, what a stupid time to cancel a show, right when the viewers are really attached to the characters. The USA Network stinks!!
