A drama following a man caught between two realities.
Since his car accident, detective Michael Britten's mind has created two realities in which his wife survived in one and his son survived in the other. At any given moment, he is not sure if he is awake or asleep - one minute he's awake with his wife, and at the blink of an eye he is awake with his son. With people in both realities assuring him he is not dreaming, he must now try and find out which reality - if any - is real.

This was a really good show. it sucks that it's cancelled but at least the producers created a suitable ending. now Awake will just be a mini series. :)

Shows I loved that are cancelled. Awake The Firm Alcatraz Breakout Kings Who Do You Think You Are. Do they really think we all like reality shows and stupid cartoons. I like shows that make me think

"Awake" was a intricate, quality show.
What's obvious is the networks no longer have ANY IDEA what classy meaningful, thought provoking shows are!
But.........by all means.bring on more of those classless reality shows!!

NBC complains about ratings so why cancel shows people love. We're left hanging with Awake, and I love Who Do You Think You Are and The Firm. When you do this you force us to watch other networks

I just don't understand why they cancel the good shows. Alcatraze was also canceled. At least I still got Fringe. Awake was great!

OMFingG!! REally? how can you cancel one of the best shows to come along in decades! Watching this show has been as good as going to a 4 star movie! My 13 year old daughter and I loved watching each episode and coming up with our own theories! Only wish there was more to come!

Cancelled? Really NBC! One of the most intriguing shows to come along in a while. First you cancel The Firm and now Awake. What are your programmers smoking? I would highly reccommend a complete drug screening for these guys. Or are you using a dartboard to pick what you'll cancel? Aside from Grimm, there isn't one other show I'd watch on your network, with the exception of the other two that you've decided to cancel. I think it time to get rid of my cable bill and take up a hobby.

I've read all the comments about Awake being cancelled for next season and feel the same as most of the people who comment. I do feel helpless in that I as a consumer have no control over what is put on Tv. Awake has been a wonderful mix of great writing, acting and directing.
Maybe the executives can take a second look at extending the show for a 2nd season. Do a better job of promoting and let the true lovers a good television enjoy another year.
Thank you all for your comments. I hope someone notices.

Just watched Episode 13, which I belive is the last one that is going to be made. Great show and for once the network has at lease given the viewers a concluesion to the series and the storyline. Very well done to all that worked on the show, will be sorry that it is over. If any show deserved a second series it has to be this one, the writing and acting was all first rate. Other networks should take note, that if you have to end a series please give the audience that has taken the time and effort to invest in the show the concluesion to the storyline they deserve.
Thank You.
Thank You.

Over half of the programing that my household watched over the past year has been cancelled, really making me think of cancelling my viewer subscription as well.
