A drama following a rancher tasked with restoring order to 1960's Las Vegas.
Inspired by the true story of former Sheriff Ralph Lamb, Vegas follows a fourth-generation rancher tasked with bringing order to Las Vegas in the 1960s, when the city was emerging a gambling and entertainment mecca.
Ralph Lamb just wants to run his ranch in peace, but Las Vegas is a fast-growing city, swelling with outsiders and corruption which intrude on his simple life. When the mayor comes to Lamb for help, recalling his command as a military police officer during World War II, Lamb takes the job of Sheriff and clashes with Vincent Savino, a ruthless big city gangster with his own agenda for Las Vegas.
Now these two powerful men engage in a ferocious battle for control of the budding desert oasis.

"Vegas" wasn't the best show "EVER", but Chiklis, Quaid, and Jones were just fine. Being in the business, I feel for everyone. (Living in Valencia, I hate to show that business go away, also) But, especially Sarah Jones. I caught up and eventually saw all the "Alcatraz" episodes. Yes, we all know she's cute, or hot, or whatever. But I watch her work (duh) and simply don't think she's given enough to show any range. I think the "Alcatraz" Episode 2 gave her a little room, from what I remember. A few of last month's "Vegas" episodes also.
It's never great getting stuck with 2 One-Season shows, but somehow I think this lady will find a niche.

Vegas one of the better shows anditsbeing cancelled! Viewers finally get decent shows on T.V. and network gurus sit atop of their thrones and cancel things like this? Golden Boy is worth canceling as are probably a few others! CSI NY outlasted its time. Criminal Minds is getting gorier and gorier when it comes to scripts

Cancellations of quality shows like Vegas is making it easier and easier for me to look toward dropping my TV package and getting my entertainment from the Internet.

I just wanted to comment that I am saddened by the cancellation of this show. I enjoyed this show much more than the reality shows that are on the air now. My husband and I watch tv to escape reality!
