An action thriller following a former intelligence officer drawn into a mysterious conspiracy.

Completely in agreement with all the comments below!!!!! Shame on NBC and all stations...constantly removing thought provoking, action packed shows. Filling what could be excellent action filled show time with sickening fake "Reality" shows. Bring back "The Player", Wesley and Cast!!!!

This show is fantastic, and has some strong possibilities as to where the story will lead. It is very similar to the movie "The Matrix"-- where shadowy figures are really running things from behind the scenes [much like real life].
@NBC: Please give this show another season, and if you can't do that, then please sell it to one of the cable networks so that it can continue...

Sometimes a great show doesn't get recognised right away. A long time ago a little comedy called only fools and horses was about to be cancelled by the BBC due to low viewing figures during its first series. That show is the most watch show ever on the BBC it was voted Best Comedy of all times 30 yrs later it is still being shown on cable.
The Player is a great show with a twist that makes it different. Have some Faith and reward it with Renewal. Reality TV Sucks. The Player is Awsome

Absolutely brilliant! Is fun pulp fiction and a perfect chaser to the darkness of The Blacklist. NBC, please don't cancel this show - I'm too young to go to bed at 9:30!

Renew this show for Goodness sake. One of the great shows on TV today. Let me guess that they will renew every darn reality show, but good action/dramas get axed.

Please don't cancel this show. It was opposite Football and now that NBC does not have Football people will start watching. Wesley Snipes is really good. The whole cast is good and very clever with intriguing plots and the side plot about Ginny. Very good show
