A political drama following a Cabinet member who is appointed President after a deadly attack on the Capitol.
After a deadly explosion kills the President and members of the Cabinet on the night of the State of the Union address, the nation is suddenly left without a Commander in Chief.
Tom Kirkman, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, had been named the designated survivor and is therefore the next in the chain of command. He is promptly sworn in as President, though he has no way of knowing that the catastrophic attack was only the beginning of a much larger plan.

I liked this one! I agree that there are the shows intelligent couples and families watch, and yet what gets kept eludes the heck out of us. Some of us are fighting the dumbing down of society. Were still looking for the raised standard. Save Designated Survivor and Deception. Heck, I even liked Kevin. Deception though, has been my all time favorite... Please consider renewing the series.

How sad you cancel shows that people over 30 enjoy. Seems you’re intent on catering to only very young people. My husband and I are watching the 4 networks less and less and going to PBS and cable channels for our entertainment. You are so out of touch with a great majority of us

Great story line. Amazing cast with canadian royalty holding major characters in Sutherland and fox.

I, like many others it appears, I can not believe that DS has been cancelled. What a dumb decision. ABC is now off me TV as far as I am concerned. Unless DS is brought back.

Really really liked this show. So over ABC constantly cancelling good show. Hopefully they will have the good sense to change their minds and renew it!!!

DS is one of my favorite shows. So disappointed that it was canceled. We DS fabs can only hope Netflix might try and pick it up.

Well it seems appropriate that all the networks this year have lost their ability to determine a good show. I am not sure how the Nielsen ratings work in the U.S., but obviously they are skewed. Now after the cancellation of DS, ABC is as bad as CBS in making decisions. Is it any wonder that the main 4 networks are losing popularity to all the streaming and small networks.
