A suspense drama following a team of elite negotiators who handle conflict and hostage situations.

Eric Beaumont is a veteran crisis and hostage negotiator whose team is tasked with resolving some of the most difficult kidnap and ransom cases.

Eric and his team use their insight into human behavior to resolve these intense situations while refusing to resort to violence no matter the stakes.

But while Eric's manipulation mastery makes him the best at his job, it also has the side effect of complicating his relationships with friends, family, and colleagues.

@Suzanne.....they're running lots of ads for Training Day series on Ransom because on March 30 that show moves to Saturdays. Probably before or after Ransom airs. Just read that here....

I really like Ransom. Mostly because the situations portrayed are really different from the usual ransom stories. The twists of each episode keeps me coming back for more.
Also, I agree a little with @Patricia. I don't always need shows with 90-mph action in them...sometimes non-action with good story plots, work, too.
I don't much care for Sarah Green. She brings a bit of brat to her role, and that's annoying. The rest of the cast is great, especially Luke Roberts. He solidifies the stories.
@Darlene...as you know by now, Ransom hasn't been cancelled. And, I hope it's around for many seasons.

The last 3 episodes have not aired in the Phoenix area, why?

The March 11th episode was not broadcast in Phoenix. Instead I got an episode of "48 Hours." Does this mean it's been canceled?

Ransom is a show that is just something to watch. Doesn't keep me on the edge of my seat. I like training day, I like Bill Paxton I don't think they will find a replacement for him though.

I like Ransom. Okay, so it isn't the most involved show on TV, but everything doesn't have to get my heart pumping. There is no reason why we can't have SOMETHING to watch on Saturday night,so why not this?! It's not like there are many other options.

I like Ransom. Maybe because it gives me something to watch. Hopefully it gets a season 2

Becky: Interesting that you mentioned Training Day. They seem to air a lot of promos for it during Ransom. I prefer Ransom too.
ted: I reread your 1st post. I apologize for missing the point the first time through.
The last original network programming, first run, that I can remember airing on a Sat. night was the District - a long time ago. I would be beyond thrilled if new programming came back to Sat. How is this show suppose to succeed if no one knows it exists?

I enjoy the show. I think the premise is interesting. I like it more than Training Day
