Arthur is an unemployed man living a rather bleak existence. His unhappy marriage and boring life lead him to make a plan that would result in the death of his obnoxious wife.

This plan would allow him to obtain life insurance money and start over with his beloved mistress. But an unwritten law in Authur's life leaves every problem he solves with a far worse effect, and this time it sets off a chain of disastrous events.
